Long time, but two new designs!

Where did the time go? I have been busy working on new pieces and cutting lots of rings. Here are two of the pieces I did on comission. The necklace is a mother's pendant and the earrings were for an anniversary. The stones in the mother's pendant are alexandrite, rhodolite garnet, and amethyst. The earrings are sapphires with a "primitive" setting. (Yes the tool marks are supposed to be on the bezel around the stone.) I am happy to say that these will both be entering my line soon. =) Of course the website isn't up for the jewelry... maybe later this year. I have to get the ChainWeavers website redone first.

Thanks for looking!

Cascading Rivers

I love artisan lampwork and Krista and Karl of 5 Fish Designs are favorites of mine. I bought these gorgeous beads last year and it took me a while to design around them. The borosilicate beads are spectacular! I accented the beads with 1.5 inch cascades of Swarovski crystals.

Enjoy! Michelle

Granulated pendant

My first attempt at granulation and tube setting a gemstone.

A bit primitive looking and the scan shows a myriad of flaws, but it good enough to encourage me to continue on this course. =)

The pendant is Argetium sterling, the granulation is fine silver, the 3/16" tube for the setting, and the bail are sterling, with a 4 mm garnet.

Next up: filigree earrings.

Welcome to "News from the bench"

Every so often I have things I want to share, musings and new pieces to show off, and "News from the Bench" is where you will find it first. I probably won't post often, and it will relate to my own silver smithing work more than ChainWeavers business (which is why I probably won't post often... y'all are keeping me really busy cutting rings).

But when I have something to show it will be here! Check back often! Thanks!
